LET'S TALK ABOUT
OUR HISTORY
Our church was started in 1828, when they simply met in people's homes. Shortly thereafter in 1839, a one room log cabin was built to hold services. In 1857, we got our first brick building. It changed locations in 1888, to move closer to the "new gravel road," which is now State Road 44. That building was almost completely destroyed by a tornado in 1954, so church members met in the City Hall until their new building was ready for use nearly a year later. This was the beginning of our current facilities we use today. The building was added onto, and in 1972, the new sanctuary opened for weekly services.
